Over the past 14 years, Solar Village has designed and built a wide variety of single family residences. Whether for a speculative sale, or a private client, each residence was designed to a very specific client focused program. We believe that a successful project is based on thoroughly understanding all of the clients' unique requirements before starting the design process and merging that with the unique Solar Village features. Solar Village Golden

Built on a unique site with a long ranching history this home acknowledges its roots in its very construction. The exterior walls of the house are made of straw bales, covered in plaster made of earth taken from the site. The 17" walls provide a tremendous amount of insulation. The home also utilizes a 5" thick concrete floor to store the winter sun's heat.

Solar Village Redwood

With a building envelope sitting adjacent to a wetlands this home had a responsibility to its surroundings from the initial conception. Every aspect of the home was considered in regard to its overall impact on the environment. Special care was taken from the digging of the foundation to the final sustainable interior finishes selected to a make a truly one of a kind eco home.

Tenacity Drive

Inspired by the simplicity of traditional Shaker architecture this home is economical in its overall footprint and use of construction materials. The design also looks to the vernacular farm houses of the region for its details.

Designed for a small family, this home is built around an exterior courtyard. The home also features a large south facing front porch overlooking a small park across the street.

Confidence Drive

A wrap-around porch and central courtyard connect the interior spaces of this home to the outdoors. The home includes an above garage apartment, detached guest room and woodworking shop. The family business is run from a home office.

This modern home utilizes a sophisticated curtain wall system to bring natural daylight into the home. The main house, garage and site wall are positioned to create a private south facing courtyard. Sustainable materials are used throughout this home.
